Review: The World More Full of Weeping

The World More Full of Weeping
The World More Full of Weeping by Robert J. Wiersema

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This novella by Robert J. Wiersema is one of the most beautiful and haunting things that I have read in recent memory. The prose is so infused with a sense of place that at times I felt like I was reading a fine bit of southern writing. (Which I have always been in love with, of course.) The end was not what I was expecting but it really did hit home for me. Like others who have reviewed this work, I'm reluctant to go over too much in this review because I feel that it would rob a potential reader of the opportunity to appreciate the subtle, aching beauty of this jewel of a story without the burden of expectations. Therefore, I will say only this: Read it.
